In addition to the short papers, I have included two longer papers. One is called An Open Letter to Academia. This is a statement of my long-standing feeling that engineering training needs to be more clearly linked to basic physics. If you are an academic, or have influence in academic circles, I invite you to read this paper and let me have your response.
The other longer paper is called For Architects and Facilities Designers. I wrote this to address the many important considerations in electrical interference that should be considered at the design stage. If this is your area please read this paper and again, let me know your response.
If you want more in-depth information, I have also included links to my books. I have been working and publishing in the area of electrical interference for almost half a century, since I graduated from the California Institute of Technology (CalTech) as a physics major in 1949. In 1967, Wiley and Sons published my first book, Grounding and Shielding. I brought out a new edition every ten years or so, and this same book was just released in its 5th edition. As you can imagine, it has changed greatly in these forty years, but the principles of physics have not changed. Despite unimaginable changes in technology, the problems of interference have not changed all that much either. So the the edition is both new and, in its basic physics, very much the same as the first.
Another way I can help solve interference problems is with a two-day seminar. The page called “Seminars” gives information about this option. With a seminar you can provide information on interference to a group of engineers. And finally, I am available for consulting if you feel I can help best in that way.
